Just Because ...

It shouldnt work so well between us but for some reason it does. For some reason it works better than ‘well’. For some reason, it just works. Perfectly.

He is artistic, computer friendly and nonchalant.

I cannot draw stick men, hate computers and am organised.

He hogs the blanket. I complain. I snore. He suffers through it.

His patience knows no bounds. Mine doesn’t even know the definition of the word.

He loves the city. I come from the country.

He detests wine. I dream of romantic wine tasting trips to Napa.

He is settled. I long for extended exploration of foreign shores.

He loves quiet nights in and I was born to tear up the dance floor on a Saturday night.

He leaves the towel over the end of the bath, I know it belongs on the rail.

He is an early riser, I didn’t even know there was such a thing as 9am on a Saturday morning before we met.

He is tall. I am not. To say the least.

You see it really shouldn’t work out even well between us, let alone perfect. But after a tough day at the office there is nothing more I love than a hug from him.

He makes me pancakes on a Saturday morning when he gets up as he knows I love a lie in. I make time to read his words. He is affectionate and the anti PDA in me in gone.

He carrys me to bed if I fall asleep on the sofa. He looks after me when I have a wine induced hangover and I take care of him when he is struck down with a migraine.

He thinks I am all that and a bag of chips. I think I could do with some improvement.

The point is, there are so many reasons it shouldn’t work but trust me it does. And after the week I have had in work there is no better cure than going home, relaxing and then telling him all about it.

So this is because, you deserve a little thanks for making a tough week, slightly more bearable.
