You are only as old as you feel
17-01-2010And right now I feel about 90!
It has been a busy busy weekend with two nights out on the tear. I just don’t think I am cut out for it anymore. The constant nights out one after another that is. I remember at uni being able to hit the pub every night of the week and the coming home at the weekend to tear it up in the local! Now my little feet are screaming in agony from being strapped into 6 inch heels and bouncing around all night on the dance floor.
To be honest though it was totally worth it. Last night in particular was just one of those nights. The girls getting together a few drinks, a bit of gossip and ALOT of dancing. Topped off with a trip to Friar Tucks for some legendary take away at the end of the night. No one got hammered drunk, no one ended up in tears, no one fell out, no one took the hump and no men were around to check up on every second on third song. (Men and dance floors don’t mix I have noticed, so they tend to stay at the table mumbling about girlfriends wanting to dance and promising handbag security for the night as long as they don’t have to shuffle a few steps to a tune) It was exactly as a girls night should be.
While this always is the plan with girls nights, invariably something always happens. There is usually a bickering between some girls in the group after a few drinks, or someone loses a handbag, or someone gets told off by bouncers for hitting the dance floor with no shoes, or some has too much to drink and the tears over everything and anything start, or some creep out on the pull, has made a girl in the group in target for the night and proceeds to incessantly sleaze around hoping he might get lucky enough for her to lower her standards. You know the usual, nothing ever too serious but always a slight dampener on the overall night.
Last night was drama free with good friends. Although I will say one thing. Whoever thought that shot of tequila was a good idea is in so much trouble! Almost 24 hours later and I am still cringing at the thought of it.
