Wardrobe woes
06-03-2010I had to clear out my wardrobe today. It just had to be done. Literally I was the perfect example of a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. I am not exactly a hoarder per say, except when it comes to clothes.
I have clothes that are too small for me and yet I keep them, telling myself that one day I might be skinny enough to fit into them again. Vice versa also applies, I have clothes that are too big for me and I hang on to those bad boys as well telling myself that they will be handy in case I put on a bit of weight. I have clothes that have gone out of fashion come back into fashion and gone out again, that’s how long I have them. Many pairs of shoes need re-heeled, some so badly I don’t even think re-heeling them will work they are that far gone at this stage.
In uni I was really good, I would have a wardrobe clear out every 6 months or so, and then when I got a proper job, lost the retail student discount and couldn’t afford to shop quite as much the clear outs where cut back, and back and back until I got myself into the position of literally having a wardrobe full of clothes but nothing to wear.
So after a quick shopping trip today I came home to clear out some of the crap that has been occupying my shelves for much to long, a spring clean of my togs if you will.
I was brutal and I feel great now after doing it. Ok one or two items may have made it back into the fold but overall it was a pretty successful wardrobe slaying.
Now just to get some more items to fill it.....
