Happy St Patrick's Day
18-03-2010Ok so I am one day late on this one but the intention is still there.
Yesterday the Emerald Isle (and the rest of the world celebrated St Patrick’s Day) and it seems to have gone off with a bit of a bang. The streets of Dublin were packed with everyone decked out in a million shades of green. The parade was bigger and better than ever before. Iconic buildings around the world were lit up green in honour of our patron saint.
I had also celebrated the day a little bit earlier than usual with two friends of mine on Saturday. We got decked out in green and went to watch the rugby before heading out for a few drinks and lots of dancing into the small hours of the morning.
Enjoying a few days of work thanks to a few days in lieu and planning on heading to Glendalough in Co Wicklow today for some good old fashioned sight seeing. Apparently, according to my mum I have been once before but when I was much younger. A few people I know have raved about the beauty of the area so I am really looking forward to it. There is nothing quite like appreciating the beauty of your own back yard.
