Chillaxing Days
20-03-2010It has been a few days of chilled out relaxation. Much needed chilled out relaxation. As I had mentioned before, myself an the ball and chain, affectionately known as the other half (
We left Dublin on Thursday at around lunchtime. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, it was warm enough to go for a stroll. Perfect day trip type weather. Fast forward one hour drive to Wicklow and the heavens have opened, its is so grey, dull and damp that getting out of the car is probably last on anyone’s list of priorities. Following a quick run and lots of jumping over puddles we popped into the visitor centre where we spent our afternoon giggling, checking out the museum type items on display and watching a historical films. Sounds dull as hell but we had a great laugh.
We even got some good pictures. Check out how Glendalough should look.

Naturally we did the only sensible thing. We headed to the pub.
A really old style Irish pub in a remote village with wooden floors, plates on the wall, and a humungous open fire. The next hour or two was spent checking out the tourists, eating sandwiches and drinking tea in front of the fire. Bliss.
On the way home the rain had cleared up so we stopped of at Powerscourt to check out the waterfall before hitting the road home, soaked shoes and all.

To be honest it was a great day. Completely random, and some would say even spoiled by the weather, but I enjoyed every minute.
