Fool me once shame on me

Happy April Fools one and all!

I thankfully have not been 'got' this year for a change. I was on my guard. I am always caught out every single year and I end up looking like a, well, like a fool. Some of the stories I have been gotten with are classics, my local shopping centre got burned down - but only the end with the shops I like, Brian Cowan has cut down Ireland's Bank Holiday allowance, my best friend got engaged when in Canada. Seriously talk about gullible.

But not this year.

This year I was prepared. Anyone who knows the other half understands. The biggest joker of them all was bound to have a field day on April Fools. The amazing thing is, I actually got him.

Yes you read that right. I got him. Ok it was only a small one but you got to the wins when you can. I text him saying all the trains were cancelled as employees in the Public Transport Department had decided on a last minute strike in support of the passport workers. Nothing too huge, he would notice that. Something small and credible. Still, I thought he would see right through it, so you can imagine my surprise when he didn’t. I am The Jester! Well for one small moment this morning I was.

It was a glorious moment for me.

My sister was harder to trick. She is wise to my games.

My aunt got a few people with her "I won 7 thousand pounds on the lotto" stunt.

So commiserations to all those who got pranked on the most notorious joker day of the year, and congratulations to those who managed to pull a prank, big or small, you can claim your victory with me in this one
