20-05-2010I heard some sad news this morning that Ronan Keating and his wife Yvonne are splitting. I always thought they seemed like a fairly secure, down to earth, loved up couple. Married for 12 years, 3 children and they seemed after all this time, to still adore each other. Still I guess you never can really understand what goes on behind closed doors. Perhaps they were just really good at putting on a front for the cameras.
The split seems amicable enough, I hope for the sake of the children involved that it is. The spilt of a set parents is always going to be hard on a child or indeed children. There is no point making it harder by creating a nasty atmosphere and horrible tension. Having un-necessary heated arguments while all the time trading insults and partaking in a no win game of one-up-man-ship. I have seen it happen many times before and nothing tears a family apart like it. A separation never decides the fate of a 'family' it is how those involved handle it.
In other news, I am sick; some stupid summer cold has been doing the rounds I have succumbed to its wily charms. Cue much sniffling, coughing, nose blowing and generally feeling sorry for myself. Still, at least the other half is a dab hand at making hot drinks to cure all evils of the cold, every cloud I guess
