Liverpool Visits

28-05-2010
Two friends of mine, a couple, moved to Liverpool shortly after finishing university with the rest of us in Belfast. The plan was for both of them to further their education in a college across the waters. Since then (which really does only seem like yesterday) they have got full time jobs, got married, bought a house and now are on the brink of taking a year out to travel in Australia (I am not jealous at all!). Australia is a lot further away than the 1 hour flight to Liverpool, so there will be less visits from them in the next year or so to say the least.

Before they leave, myself and two other friends were hoping to get over and see them. The trip had been booked for today two weeks. Unfortunately I am broke. It's my dad's 50th birthday in a week, another friends birthday in just over 3 weeks, I had a hair appointment booked for this day fortnight, the parents anniversary is up and coming, I am meant to be saving very hard to try and get away somewhere hot in the summer and not to mention it's bill month so the internet, gas and electric will have to be paid with actual money rather than just fresh air. The point being that it was looking like I would have to resign myself to not going. Any other month I would have been able to manage. This month, it would have been too tight a squeeze.

Enter the other half who very very kindly booked my flights as a wee gift saying that it’s been aaaaaaaaaaages since I got over to visit these folks, my other friends are going and it would be a real pity if I missed it. Do I have the best boyfriend in the world or what?!

So this day two weeks I will be touching down in John Lennon airport, no doubt taking pictures beside the yellow submarine, getting ready to spend two days catching up with friends.
