Gym Update
03-06-2010So it has been a week since my first session at the gym and I have managed to pop along 5 times.
How is it going? I hear you ask. Well I won't lie. I am in total and utter agony, every muscle in my body aches and my limbs would actually prefer to be cut off by a blunt rusty saw than continue on. Sitting hurts, standing even more so, and don't even get me started on the agony that now has me walking more like John Wayne with every passing session.
But I am determined to persevere. I am signed up for 6 months and rumour has it that it gets easier with time.
I had to scurry for the dart again yesterday afternoon and when I got on the train I wasn't as focused on the huffing and puffing as I previously would have been. That might have been because I was more focused on the fact that my muscles actually felt like they were crying big fat salty tears of pain. But I am counting it as a win, or at least a move in the right direction.
You stop doing any form of exercise for a few years and your body seems to forget how to function. Go figure.
