Sleepless in Liverpool
14-06-2010Back in Irish soil after what can only be described as an epic weekend in Liverpool. Myself and three others headed over to see a very dear friend before she departs for foreign (well more foreign shores) and generally to have one last hoopla in scouserland.
Friday night was spent swapping stories and news over take away from the local noodle bar and countless cups of tea. Catching up with each other and the goings on in everyone lives is best done in a cosy living room, curled up on the sofa until your eyes can't stay open a minute longer.
Saturday we took a road trip to Manchester (and we even took a wee peek at Old Trafford which is a personal favourite of mine) before hitting the shops and strolling the sunny streets. Purchases were made, clothes for our night out were decided on and our limbs were weary from exploring so we decided to head home. But not before stopping off at Krispy Kream!
I won't lie I am not a fan of donuts. Never found them appealing at all. That is until now. You have not experienced heaven until you have tried an original glazed donut from Krispy Kream. They are to die for!
A box of donuts later we sat, stuffed and contented in the car park, laughing at our in joke of pulling a Patrice. You had to be there for that one.
Our night out on Saturday, to keep it short and simple, was fantastic. Great music, great friends, tons of dancing, and lots of stories to take home so we can regale them in future get-togethers. All in all, a really unbelievably enjoyable weekend with a great bunch of people. Thanks again to our lovely lovely hostess for putting us all up, and thanks to my travelling companions for an entertaining journey filled with boots, deep heat and a pleasant jog through the airport to catch out plane home.
On a final note a wee congrats to the other half who has sailed through to the Comedy Contest Final! I couldn't be more pleased if it was myself getting through!! Looks like Colin Murphy could have some stiff competition to win the spot of favourite comedian in my heart, hehe
