It's all competitive
23-06-2010Ok so I have never won anything in my life, except for an oversized bar of chocolate when I was about 10 and my mum put my name on a raffle ticket at bingo and low and behold she / I won. It's for this very reason that I don't do the lotto or buy scratch cards. It's pointless. In spite of this I have decided to enter a competition with Radisson Blu to win the holiday of a lifetime. That is, 365 hotel stays over 5 years in anyone of their hotel's worldwide. That's one hell of a nice prize.
To enter I had to submit a reason why I should win. I read over some of the others to see what the standard was and alot of them seemed to go for the bog standard 'pull at the heart strings' entry. I could have as well. I could have rambled about how great I am, how much a deserve to win, how life is tough and so on and so forth. But the reality is, life for me, isn't that tough. Sure I work really hard, and i get regularly told off my the other half, my folks and friends for working perhaps a little too much. Sure, I can't take holidays willy nilly (hehe) as we are short staffed in the office and organising holidays takes a lot of effort in here. Sure, I am constantly skint and if I plan on getting away this summer it will be thanks to lastminute.com rather than some 5* hotel group. But it's the same for everyone. Everyone works hard, everyone is broke and everyone has their own ups and downs in life, why should I think my work, my financial crap or my ups or downs are any worse than any one else. They are probably teeny tiny in comparison.
So I went a different angle. I made it so cheesy you would swear it was a block of cheddar on your computer screen as you read it. And it rhymes. Well, for the most part.
So if you get a chance, why not pop on here and cast your vote for me. You can vote every 24 hours so if you remember to vote every 2 or 3 days that would be even better! And for my part, I promise to have a great time on each break so that I will have lots of adventure filled tales for when I return, not to mention post cards and gifts from duty free!
