Summer, better late than never
16-08-2010So summer made a bit of an long overdue appearance over the weekend and boy did I make the most of it, smothered with the cold I was determined to get out and about and enjoy the two days of unexpected sunshine. So the cold may still be slightly lingering today but it was worth it.
Saturday we spent out walking near the other halves parental home. There is a little nook in this corner of the world that looks like someone has stolen it from a country spot and slotted it into this obscure corner of a suburban town. Complete with fields, rivers and over grown paths we spent the afternoon exploring in the sun and I tortured him by taking picture after picture
Sunday the sun had managed to hang around so we decided to take a day trip to Bray where we spent our time strolling along the promenade, messing on the beach, eating ice cream and doing more exploring. Oh and there were more pictures taken much to the other halves dismay. It was a perfect summers day, I slept like a baby after all the fresh air and walking about. Bliss!
In other news we also got our holiday booked after riding the last minute train to 'hoping-to-nab-a-bargain-ville'. Thankfully it worked out really well for us. We got a steal of a deal on an all inclusive stay in a hotel in Costa Brava. With Barcelona only an hour away by train you can bet we will be popping up their for a visit.
So roll on this time 9 days when I get to enjoy a whole week of summer! Fingers and toes crossed
