Viva Espana!!
02-09-2010So I am back! Did you miss me? Okay so things have been a bit quiet on the blogging front as I have been in Spain for the past week and before that, I was enjoying a few rare days of doing nothing. Bliss.
The holiday itself was brilliant, just what the doctor ordered. An entire week of lazying by the pool, reading and chilling out, eating, drinking, more relaxing and a wee bit of sight seeing in Barcelona thrown into the mix for good measure. The weather was fantastic, the days were hot and sunny and the nights were long and balmy. The hotel was lovely, (although the entertainment left a bit to be desired - some member of staff obviously brought in their own ipod and played the same songs over and over again so by the end of the week after hearing Michael Jacksons 'Beat it' for the millionth time I was ready to steal the ipod and throw it in the pool
Barcelona was fantastic. Having been a few times before I had done most of the sight seeing in the city but its one of those places I would say visitors can never get tired off. Laid back and very European, and nothing is quite as good as a stroll along Las Ramblas. While in Barcelona we stayed late to see the Fountain Show, for anyone thinking of visiting the city, this is definitely something you should take the time to check out.
It was a pity that while I was away I missed the Down v Kildare match in Croke Park, but thanks to mobile web and RTE's up to the second progress reports, not to mention the texts from friends at family, that I was kept in the loop. Hopefully I can get to Croker now for the final. Fingers, toes, and anything else crossable, crossed.
Landing back in Dublin into the cold was a bit pants to say the least and the though of work first thing this morning was a tough pill to swallow, still at least I have a fun filled girls night out this weekend to look forward to. It's a tough life I lead
