Shortie

All work and no sleep makes Shortie a cranky old bitch

07-04-2011
For the past few weeks my body has been opertating on the assumption that I require little to no sleep. This is not the case. I do not function under these conditions!

I am having trouble getting over to sleep and at least once a week I will go a whole night without nodding off. On the nights I do manage to nod off it normally takes a few hours, I dose and then wake, dose and then wake, dose and then the alarm clock goes off and having to get up feels like I am living in a nightmare.

There is no reason for my current bout of insomnia. Work is trodding along as normal along with everything else in my life (thankfully) and yet a peaceful nights sleep evades me.

If I do manage to get a decent few hours of shut eye it very rarely is peaceful thanks to the joys of night terrors and sleep walking. I pity the other half sometimes, as I wake up up yet again with my tossing and turning, midnight wanderings or scary jumps as a nightmare ends. How he puts up with me I will never know.

This has happened me before, the insomnia and all that it entails. Usually though it buggers off after about two weeks. This time though that doesn't seem to be the case and the longer it goes on the more I am focusing and worrying about the fact that I am not sleeping. In short I am tired of being tired! It's too much like hard work.

If anyone has any tips hints or home remedies please let me know, at this point I am willing to try doing a handstand with my eyes closed if I was told it would work.

Doh, sorry to hear!

My whole life I've always had my showers right before going to sleep and I've never had trouble sleeping - apparently a temperature drop helps!
