A fun filled weekend
11-04-2011It's Monday (not quite still the morning but none the less still Monday) and I am recovering from a fantastic weekend. Although my body literally feels like every inch of it has been kicked, thumbed and pummelled, it was a weekend to remember.
On Saturday night I met up with the aforementioned old friends for one last dinner and drinks session before others return to the land down under. It was a great night, lots and lots of catching up, fantastic food and a visit for a few drinks to one of the old haunts, a placed we were guaranteed to frequent most weekends
On Sunday (following a pact I made the day before to enjoy the good weather while it was here) I was up early. Sinfully early for a Sunday if I am honest. I hit the road with the other half, my sister, her boyfriend and my parental folks to go and enjoy some good old fashioned site seeing along the coast of Antrim. We got in all in one day, the Giants Causeway, Torr Head, Ballycastle, Carrick-a-reade Rope Bridge, fantastic weather and great craic. All in all, the perfect combination.
For those of you readers who have not taken part in some form of a tour of the Antrim coast line, stop whatever you are doing, grab your coat, put some petrol in the car, pack a picnic and get your ass on the road. Trust me when I say this is one not to be missed. And when the weather is shining the beautiful Irish scenery really is unbeatable. I promise to upload some pictures later on although I have a fairly heafty chunk of them on my Facebook so for those of you on that you can check them there.
It was a long day though, especially after a night out but it was worth it. So much walking, hiking, climbing and exploring has left me in agony today and I know tomorrow will be even worse. Still, when my muscles are aching I can pop on and check out my amazing photographs to remind me that it really was worth it.
