Busy but I still have time for stories

As you gathered from my last post I have been a bit busy lately with weddings, hen parties and pre wedding parties so that explains my disappearance from the web.

We had another wedding over the weekend, which included a trip down the country for the actual wedding and then a further excursion for a BBQ for friends and family the next day. Naturally we got lost. Monday was duly booked off for some catching up on sleep and massaging my poor feet after tottering around in sky scraper heels for two days.

In other news himself is moving along nicely with his book (for those of you that might not know this he has penned a few novels and is now in the process of fixing the first one up, dotting the 'i's and crossing the 't's before sending it off to try and secure an agent). The book is currently with an editor as she reads through it checking for flow, continuity, development on characters and general punctuation.

He doesn't like to brag but I can do it on his behalf :) the feedback has been very good. The editor thinks the book is laugh out loud funny (in all the right places) it's well written and well thought out as well as being gripping in its fantasy tale. I have read it and I can back up her claims. I might not tell him often enough (that's probably a lie, I tell him all the time) but he is a fantastic writer. The story jumps off the pages from the word go and you can't help but emphasise with the characters and their tales of woe. You find yourself cheering on the unwitting hero and cursing the stories villain. A sure sign of a good book.

I tell him he should have tried getting published sooner, he has so many tales and a gift when it comes to bringing a story to life.

So while he works on trying to get an agent, I help in whatever way I can. I research agents who have an interest in his genre, I do background research on similar authors and their publishing houses. I do whatever little things I can do to help him become in his eyes what he is already in mine; an author.

So yes we have been busy, super busy but we still make some space for story time.
